And wouldn't you know it's the truth.

I'm too smart
I need to die
I won't lie in your way
I don't crave your attention
I'm far away
But not enough
To know what is true
And what is false
I lie stagnant by the claims
Made
By those forgoing
And those forgiving
Lost lamps
In the landslide
Carry me away
From this place
So dark
So hidden
Buried
Beneath the bodies
Digging up the bones
Going down
Seeing nothing
But the pure white
(Of heaven)
In a dying eye
Could've killed me
But I thought it true
And carried myself
Till I can't carry no more
I see the shadows
Yet it's still dark
& thought of you:
A modern of joan of arc
Oh sure...oh sure...
Give so much
For your goddamn art
But how hell do you
Explain
You're own salvation
With all the rust
Through your tarnation
You're a tattered soul
& I tethered
But we look through
The same lines
To the truth through.
